THE PROBLEM
I was contacted by a student at UCONN to create a postcard for the MFA Actors showcase. It included 16 actors from UCONN and UNC that were ready to present their talents to various leaders in the field. They needed a postcard a few weeks before the opening date to have printed and mailed to desired audience. Creating for two separate institutions was a challenge as there was a ton of information needed on the card with very minimal space due to the orientation and size of the pictures needed.
THE SOLUTION
As I worked, trying to find the right orientation of the postcard was tough at first due to the pictures of both universities being two different sizes. Keeping all the faces visible without crop- ping any image was a challenge but I found a way eventually by dividing the postcard into 3 sections I was able to give each subject its own space to occupy. Pulling colors from the images that blended well together was important due to the all 16 students wearing different colors.
