THE PROBLEM
Satchell Events creator Renee Satchell requested a business card without a logo. It was the beginning phases and wanted something that was eye catching yet elegant and simple. She did not have a specific event she wanted to endorse more than another and considers herself able to do it all.
THE SOLUTION
The nightlife is where the biggest and best events happen. The lights giving life to venues that feed the peoples desires and temptations. I felt keeping the focus on the nightlife was important because any event could be taking place at any moment. Weddings, Birthday Parties, Baby Showers etc. The biggest and brightest of the lights is represented by the fireworks. Purple is a sign of royalty and elegance which is how each client should feel when using Satchell Events to plan an event whether its small or large.
My Process
INspiration
I felt comfortable with the overall theme of the cityscape however, I was having trouble with the use of color and how to effectively portray the nightlife without making the card too dark. Removing the dark background and applying a more neutral tone gave the ability for the purple shades to standout and become more visually appealing.
Color Palette and concepts
Purple and black was my go to colors in regards to nightlife and elegance. However, I felt it was not appealing on the yes. Changing direction and going with a lighter cream back- ground gave life to the purple cityscape.
